How it works

A calmer way to keep the household square

Start with the bills you already share. SplitNest does the tallying so your conversations can stay simple.

  1. 1

    Set up your household

Add the people whose shared expenses you want to keep track of.

  2. 2

    Log a bill

Choose who paid and split it equally or enter the amounts that make sense.

  3. 3

    Check balances and settle up

See who owes what, then record a payment when someone pays back.

Built for shared homes

The everyday details, kept together

SplitNest focuses on the bills and balances that make a shared home work.

Household balances

See what each person owes and is owed across the bills you share.

Flexible splits

Divide a bill into equal shares or use custom amounts when a bill is not evenly shared.

Settle-up tracker

Record payments between housemates so balances stay current after someone pays back.

Monthly view

Look back at the month’s shared spending and keep recurring bills from slipping through.

Try the balance sheet

See how one shared bill changes the balance

Start with the worked example, then try your own household. SplitNest works out an equal share for everyone and shows the balance straight away.

  • The example shows the bill, who paid it, each person’s share, and the resulting settle-up.
  • Use your own names and bill amounts to see a household balance sheet.
  • Every bill in this demo is divided equally between the people you add.
  • This preview stays in your browser. The full product is still in early access.

What to expect from SplitNest

Who is SplitNest for?

Anyone sharing a home who wants a clear record of bills with roommates, a partner, or family.

Can we split bills unevenly?

Yes. You will be able to use equal shares or enter custom amounts for each person.

Will it move money between us?

No. SplitNest will track a settle-up payment after it happens, but it will not process payments.

Does it connect to my bank or card?

No. Bank and card syncing are not part of the first version.

Can everyone edit the same household together?

Not yet. Real-time shared editing and household invitations are planned outside the first version.
